Explore the ministry opportunities for your children at the River

River Kids

At River Church our kids (infant through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way. We would love to see you and your family visit Kids of the River.

Your First Visit

Here's what to expect when visiting Kids of the River for the first time:

First, find the area marked for first-time families. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent/guardian name(s)

  • Child's name

  • Child's birthdate

  • Home address

  • Phone number

  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

If you would like to plan your first visit to our church click this button below:

How check-in works.

Before Service: You can check-in your child at the desk. An attendant will enter child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.

After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s identification code will appear on the screen located on the left and right hand walls of the auditorium. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.

Parent's Viewing Room.

Although we offer childcare during service for infants, we also have a Parent's Cry Room that is available for mothers with infants. This room is reserved exclusively for parents with infants to enjoy the service in a more private and quiet environment. If you have questions about this space our hospitality team will be on-site to assist you.

Meet our Kids Director.

              Sarah Petrokovich                                 The Petrokovich Family

Sarah joined the River team , June of 2019. Sarah and her husband, Joe were highschool sweethearts who grew up in the riverbend area. They have two amazing, adult children Halee & Daniel Petrokovich.

Sarah has been involved in Kids Ministry since she was a pre-teen.

She began serving in her church's nursery, and continued to serve in many capacities at her home church over the years. She felt called to Kids Ministry while at summer camp, at age 17 then pursued her ministry license in ministry.

She loves to use her creativity to share the love of Christ. Her goal is to lead kids towards God's potential- as kids experience Christ, connect with others and learn to live for Jesus. She wants kids to know that they can meet God exactly where they are.
